Essays are screened by BCHS alums who have made writing a part of their life’s work. Twenty semi-finalists will be notified in June when the finalists are selected by a panel of judges including Adrian Wojnarowski\, ESPN; Captain Mark Fedor\, USCG; Jennifer Taylor\, Communications Specialist\, IBM; and Brian Spyros\, WTNH Channel 8 Weekend News Anchor.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Poetry Contest is in progress the month of March.\nPoems must be original\, school appropriate\, and read or recited to a panel of judges who will award honors to poems on the page as well as performance poems.\nWinners will receive cash awards from The Writing Initiative and publication in Signatures\, the creative arts literary magazine.\nSelected poets will go on to citywide and area competitions including the Academic Bowl in April and Pasta & Poetry Night in May.\nEntries to Poetry Contest must be submitted electronically by Monday\, March 26\, to Mrs Dickau: galedickau@ci.bristol.ct.us\nSee Mr. Pinette\, LMC or any English teacher for an entry form and rules.
