The Writing Initiative hosted its first speaker event of the 2018-19 school year welcoming ESPN sportscaster Kevin Negandhi who spoke to a Library audience of seniors. Negandhi wove his story with style and substance, tracing his beginnings from his parents who emigrated to America from India to the anchor desk of ESPN’s SportsCenter.

A Temple University grad and recipient of multiple Associated Press awards for excellence in sports journalism, Negandhi delivered his strategies for success: have a plan; anticipate your next step; seek out the help of people you love and trust; be loyal to your team to realize your dream.

In a Q&A session Negandhi discussed his reason for a lifelong allegiance to the Philadelphia Eagles (he grew up in West Philly); an important moment in his career (President Obama revealing he watched him on SportsCenter every morning); and what he admires about fellow ESPN analyst Adrian Wojnarowski (love for his wife and pride in his children).
